About Us

How We Started

We began as a unit within the police department to help a very dear friend suffering from cancer. With the support of the community, we were able to help our friend in his fight against cancer. 

Our Mission

We eventually saw a need to expand in order to fully assist our entire organization. Our services include being advocates for mental and physical needs for all employees and their immediate families in times of need.

 The Garland Police Never Walk Alone Foundation Mission:  If a Garland police officer or those who work for the Garland Police Department suffers any type of catastrophic illness or injury (on or off duty), the Foundation has been set up to help an employee and their family cope with some of the financial hardship.  Initial assistance may be provided to help with the employee or their family’s current situation. The assistance could also be through programs set up both for mental awareness or physical ailments.

Our 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Foundation

After tireless hours of our founding board members, we received our nonprofit status as of October of 2021. We hope to continue to grow and support our brothers and sisters not just in uniform, but for the entire department. Our Executive Board consists of 5 members as well as a Board of Directors which includes various liaisons within the department.
